Right-to-Left text wrapping/input issues
Hi everybody,
I've been trying to setup Word 2003 for RTL languages, specifically Farsi. All the necessary changes in Windows have been made, including keyboard layout. Now the problem seems to be that even though Word is set to right-to-left, it still refuses to wrap left-to-right characters accordingly. This results in the misplacement of some characters like the full stop, to name the most annoying example. It kind of ends up appearing before rather than after the sentence, same thing with ! or , and the likes. The r-t-l text is then continued after the l-t-r character and not - as it should be - at the far end of the line. While I'm typing, the marker does not move with the text the way it normally would but sort of stays on the right. On top of all that, the ENTER button seems to mess up the entire document, as it inserts the page break before the line instead of after it. Any ideas folks? I'm really at my wit's end at this stage ... Thanks! |
