Word 2013 Cut and Paste Order
I just changed from Office 2010 to 2013, and one thing in Word has changed, and I wanted to see if I could change the settings to be like before. In 2010, I could select multiple lines, one at a time, and cut them, and when I pasted them, they would paste in the order I selected them. For example, if the lines were like this:
1 2 4 5 3 and I selected them in numerical order, then pasted them, it would look like this: 1 2 3 4 5 However, in 2013, the order I select the lines does not matter; they would be pasted in the order they are on the page, not the order selected. I do stuff where it is very convenient to paste in the order I selected, not the order shown on the page, so if I could change settings to match 2010, that would be extremely helpful. Thanks, and hopefully this makes sense. If not, I can try to explain further. |

Perhaps you are thinking of the Office clipboard, which lets you "collect" several items that you want to paste later? In Word 2013, click the dialog launcher button in the Clipboard group on the Home tab (marked with blue in the screen shot below).

No, that's not what I'm looking for. I don't think I explained what I'm looking for very well.
Say I have this: 1 2 4 5 3 I can select all 5 lines from top to bottom, cut and paste, and they appear back in that same order. In 2010, I can select the lines in numerical order, all at once, cut and paste, and they will paste like this: 1 2 3 4 5 To clarify, I would select the 1 line, hold control, select the 2 line, select 3, 4, then 5. Then I cut, then paste. So I'm only cutting/pasting one time. This cut/paste takes into account the order I manually selected each line. However, in 2013, all it takes into account is the order they are in on the page, not the order I actually selected them, and will paste them in the same order they appear when I cut them, which is not what I want. I hope this makes more sense? |

OK, I see what you mean. In Word 2013, you will have to use the Office Clipboard to reorder numbers.
