Question Include small caps in hierarchical multi-level list

Hi,

First of all, thanks for tolerance as it is my first post.

I am discovering the world of styles with MS Word (coming from LateX) and I have just one issue to satisfy my need : I can't include a small-cap'd word in a multi-level list level. Plus, I'd like to know if there is a possibility include a two-paragraph title in one line in the table of contents.

To be clear, my need would be to have a title like (bold character means small caps):

Chapter I
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet

and the entry in the ToC to be :

Chapter I : Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..........................................1

Right now, I managed to have a working title by including a line break (maj+return) between the two lines, and setting the whole as Title 1, but I don't think it is quite reliable. Plus, this way, I included the word Chapter with the multi level setting tool, but, even with a Title style, it can't be small-cap'd.

I hope I am clear enough to explain my problem and my needs ... Thank you very much for your help !

Small caps formatting is not supported in the static text of a numbered list, as you have noticed. It wouldn't be the same, of course, but using uppercase and a slightly smaller font size may be acceptable.

Using a manual line break in the numbered paragraphs is a perfectly good workaround when you want the heading number and the text on different text lines in the document. Why do you feel it isn't reliable?
