Default Text pasted from web pages is inconsistently formatted

When I'm pasting text from web pages it sometimes pastes with the font I use in the document (Calibri, 11pt, Normal) but other times it pastes as Times New Roman, 13.5pt, Bold. Why? The web pages are (or appear to be) generated from a database so there's no reason their formatting would be inconsistent. I'm pretty sure it's something in my document-but what? I've tried selecting the entire document & setting the font before pasting. That should get rid of those pesky 'hidden' font changes if that's what's causing the problem-but it doesn't fix it. So what's causing it?

It's a combination of settings in the web page and in Word. I see it all the time when pasting text from web pages, and different browsers interpret formatting differently.

To get complete control, you can post as plain text, letting the target document define the formatting.

Combination. Well, shoot-that's why it seems so inconsistent. I don't really want to paste as plain text-about half the time I want to paste as it appears on the web page. (e.g. heading vs body text). But I might try a few things. I saw a macro somebody wrote that intercepted the Paste to provide custom handling, maybe I'll try that. Thanks.
