Word 2007 , when I save a .doc or .docx file the file type is showing "Empty"

other file types such as .dot (Microsoft Office Word 97 - 2003 Template) as showing correct . it's only these two that have a problem. Other office products such as Excel are fine. I removed MS Office 2007 suite and then reloaded it together with all the updates but the problem still remains, Please, has anybody got any ideas on have to correct this problem?
