Default Pasting from web into Word and need the CSS styles to stick

Hey Folks,

So I bought Word a couple weeks ago. Chatting with a MS rep this transpired:

Hi Shannon. Curious about copying from a web page and pasting into Word. Will it keep CSS formating? Will the CSS classes be assigned a style that I can then adjust?
Shannon S: at 16:07:10
I will be happy to assist you with your Word!
Shannon S: at 16:07:10
Just a moment while I look into that for you.
Shannon S: at 16:09:13
Yes you will be able keep the format and you can adjust the font and size.

I just tried it!

To clarify. It assigns CSS classes a style so for example if I have superscripts throughout a page, then when I paste into Word I would be able to change the size, font, color etc of the superscripts ONLY by adjusting their style?
Shannon S: at 16:11:52
That is correct!

So recap of the issue: I need to copy text from a web page. This text has various CSS classes assigned to various parts. Then I need to be able to paste that text into Word. And then Modify the Appropriate Styles.

My experience: I copy from the website and paste into word. The formatting looks similar to how it was on the website. When I open Format => Styles I see that all my CSS classes are in my styles list. HOWEVER, the Styles have not been applied to anything in the text. Everything in the text is a variation of the Normal Style. So If I Modify one of my custom CSS class Styles from the Word Styles Format editor, it does not do anything to the document. I've tried copying from Chrome, Safari, and Firefox.

Thanks

Default workaround

For anyone trying to do this. This isn't the RIGHT answer but it can solve the problem.

*Make sure you CSS classes all look different.
*Then after pasting into Word open the Styles Toolbox
*Highlight each different element and Choose "Select All" on that Toolbar iit will choose all the Text with Similar Styling.
* Then assign everything selected your Style
