Default retain form fields upon conversion to pdf

I created a form using the Developer tab and then restricted so that only the form fields can be utilized upon view. I converted to pdf and found the form input fields and check boxes were no longer interactive. I understand you can use pdf tools to create the form fields all over again but i dont want to do that, because 1) it does not look the same as my pure word form, and 2) because my word form uses tables so that when you enter text into an input field the tables cells adjust as you enter the text, but the pdf form fields do not. Is there a way to just pdf my word form and have it be the same as the original form, with the input fields available?
