The info below is from a book that I am writing but why do the dots appear at the bottom of some pages but not others? They aren't part of a 'footer'.



How can I remove them?

Yes, the dots do print.

And they only appear on random page numbers. No logic to it.

I suspect that the page numbers are not random.
Are they all even or all odd?
Are they all at the beginning of a new section?

How is it that you know they are not part of the footer? If you open the footer for editing on a page where they appear, do they appear darker on your screen?

Do they extend from margin to margin?

The page numbers are not random. They go from 1 to 38
Not sure what you mean by "new section".

I right click on the footer to get to the footer editor and the dots are just above the 'footer' line.
I tried reducing the height of the footer, but that just moved the page number upwards.

I'm baffled........normally settings cover 'all' pages.
