Embedding your own videos in Word 2013
Hi all
I'm looking into a problem for someone who wants to insert a short animated video clip into a Word doc. I'm struggling to find the info I need via online help so hoping someone here will know. They are using a Mac (Office 2011). They say they were able to insert the video clip into the document. The animated file they've sent to me is in .qt format (although they say it is/was .mov when they added it to their Word doc). The movie/animation plays ok for them when they open the file on their Mac. When they email it to others it seems to convert the embedded video to a graphic (I suspect this may be to do with differing codec support across Office versions)? Looking at Word 2013 I can't even see a method of inserting a movie file from my PC into the document, other than placing it as an object. The only user friendly options appear to be for video from online sources. So how would I do this for Word 2013 in order to test it? Would I be required to first upload the video to a video service such as YouTube, then insert it? Thanks for any tips/pointers. Dave |
