Default Is anything like creating "Book" in Adobe FrameMaker available in Word?

Hi,

I have been using Adobe FrameMaker to create various types of documents, however I will no longer have access to it so I have to create my documents in Word.

One of the features in FrameMaker is that you can create multiple files and then compile then in a "book". You can then put settings on the book where all the page numbers will automatically update, as well as the TOC.

Does Word have this same functionality or something similar, and if so, what is it called?

Thanks!

Word has the Master Documents "Feature" with this functionality. However, this is a dangerous feature to use. Please read the link.

If you do use this:
  1. Do not edit any subdocuments from within the Master Document (not even a little).
  2. Base all your subdocuments on the same template.
  3. Keep a backup of your subdocuments on a separate computer or a drive not connected to the computer on which you are using the MD.
