Default HELP! Keyboard mapping to store shortcuts for frequently used text

Hi i translate at work and have repetitive words i hate to keep on typing,

is there a way to map my F1-F12 for words?

i want my output (text) like this when i press a key:

F1 = hundred thousand
F2 = RMB
F3 = Co., Ltd.

Help is greatly appreciated!

Cheers!

It is possible but take a look at AutoCorrect and AutoText. They may give you what you want without keyboard remapping. Either or both of these in combination would give you access to far more shortcuts than remapping the function keys.

Automated Boilerplate Using Microsoft Word

I don't think the F1 key can be reassigned because it is already assigned to the Word Help function. That function is active in the keyboard reassignment process. If you check, you will find that all of the function keys already have purposes assigned in Word and some of them are quite useful.

If, after you read the article I linked, you still want to reassign your keyboard, write back and i'll give you some help with it.

Wow! autocorrect is a perfect fit! thanks sir!

I've added "fed" for "foreign exchange difference from translation of financial statements of overseas operating institutions"

I just need to type "fed" + (space) to generate the long text!

Thanks man! it's easier to type it when i need to type that.

You are welcome.

Word is full of time-saving tools like this, but it can take an effort to find them.
