Default How to recover styles or share them with others?

Hi, giving the complete answer for my first question, mentioned in my first thread, I come back to ask another question and hope to solve this problem too.

Anyway, I have define some styles (for heading, title, subtitle and …) in Word and I am using it very much. If I want to save a backup from them to use in another computer or recover them after reinstalling Word again, how can do that? I mean, how I can recover them or share with others? Thanks a lot.

Take a document that contains all your custom styles and save it as a template.

After that you might want to get rid of all the content that isn't needed. The styles will remain.

Then you might apply the styles to examples, such as the word "heading" with the heading style applied to it.

When you need to recover the styles in a different document, go to "Manage Styles" in the Styles menu and choose "Import/Export." Both windows will show the current document. Close that in one of the windows and open your template instead. Then you can copy the styles to the other window, choosing to overwrite what's in the open document (not in the template).

Does this answer your question?

Styles, along with many other customizations, are stored in Templates. Store them in a template and use that template as the basis for creating new documents.
Templates in Microsoft Word
If you are going to share them with others, definitely do NOT store them in the normal.dotm template for sharing. That template should not be shared or overwritten in order to share customizations.
