Default Data Entry Form - Hide Click here to enter text.

I am creating a data entry form and I would like the user to see the suggestion of "Click here to enter text." However, if there is no data entry required I would not like that text to not show show when printing the form. I tried selecting it and deleting it but that does not seem to work.

I know of no way to have it appear to the user but not print that doesn't depend on some special settings on the user's computer that you will not control. I think I could control it on my own computer using a combination of styles and macros but have never tried because I can't see the point.

See this page by Greg Maxey on how to modify that placeholder text to be less generic.

You may want to train your users to keep the option to "highlight the regions I can edit" checked.

I don't see an option for Your permissions in the Restrict Editing area. How do I find that?

The document protection has to be turned on to see that.
