Word cannot complete the save due to a permissions error.

I keep getting this error and have no virus or spyware protection, I just did a restore, finished all updates and all adobe and java updates and loaded 2003 pro but I am still getting this error message, any suggestions please.

Can you please list all specs of your machine including:

Make
Model
OS with service pack

Did you have antivirus software previously?
Are you using a USB drive?

The machine is an old HP SP3 XP Home Edition....did previously have A/V and not using a thumb drive.

It is my buddies machine and he did a restore before all these problems began, I also cannot get Active X installed....I wanna strangle him...LOL
