Default How to form a STYLE exactly how I want?

Hello Forum, I am working on a big document that has headers and chapters, using the preset Styles of headers in Word.
But I also have a lot of figures (tables, pictures etc) that I want to number equalliy.
So the first figure in the document in Chapter 0 - should be called Figure 0.1. the nxt figure 0.2.In chapter 3; Figure 3.1; 3.2 etc
Is that possible? It is a easy job to do manually - but then I can not include those in the index.
Looking forward to any help I can get

Default Caption numbering

Easy. Type Alt+S,P (Alt + S then P) to open the Caption dialogue. To the default numbering, simply add the chapter number by checking the Include chapter number box, and use the dropdown of Separator to select the period.
Done.
