Default Question and answer fill in the form template?

I am new to this forum and I'm not sure I am in the correct group.

I have been a Word user both PC and Mac for years, though just the basics, nothing really involved.

I have a need to create a Question and Answer fill in the form template and I need some guidance for several issues. Is Word the right software to use? Are there other packages that would do an easier but more sophisticated job?

What I would prefer todo, is ask a series of questions? Capture the individual answers and then populate them in a templated document. The document is one that everyone would use, but the questions my change some of the wording, and would have the same response in multiple locations.

For example, Enter your First Name? Enter Your Last Name. That information would be placed on the document in multiple locations.

Any guidance, suggestions or documentation on who to do this would be appreciated.

Thank you
