I worked on a word document for a couple of times and I saved it on a usb. I could open it but today, I couldn't find the document but there was a fseventsd-uuid file so I opened it using word and it said AB8C7920-7398-4ABA-90AE-B2565A02F51E on the word document
![]() The word document is really important to me ![]() Anyone know how to solve this problem? Last edited by Charles Kenyon; 03-31-2015 at 08:25 PM. Reason: Change Title |

A time machine would be very helpful. Sorry.
![]() Word does not play well with flashdrives or other removable media. Never has. Using Word with a flashdrive is currently the number one way of corrupting a document. ![]() With the document closed, use the Mac Finder to copy to/from the flashdrive and your hard drive. |

Just out of curiosity, why does Word have problems with flash drives? according to the wikipedia article, these have been around since the turn of the century; and used by Windows from Vista onwards to add system memory. OK, so we know flash drives can die between one write and the next … but that's surely not application-specific?

My understanding is that it has to do with Word's temporary files. I do not know the reason, just the result.
