Object Zoom Disappears

Hi,

I am using Word 2013 and when in the reading view we should be able to open and zoom into an object. My object opens for a brief second and then closes again preventing me from using the zoom or seeing the enlarged object ?

Has anyone got an idea as to why this is happening?
