Hi,
I am using a company template (Word 2013) and am using the tracking options. When I make changes it shows my name as the author, but as soon as I save the document it says 'author deleted'. I need to be able to keep a record of who has changes what and when so how can I prevent this from happening. Thanks in advance Caz |

Your registration says Word 2007 but your message says Word 2013.
It can make a difference. |

There is a privacy option setting that clears out document metadata including the author name on tracked revisions. The location of this setting depends on the version of Word you are using.
See the following link for further info http://wordribbon.tips.net/T010222_M...Anonymous.html for guidance on where to find this in Word 2007 and 2010. I believe that the instructions for Word 2010 also apply to Word 2013. You can also visit your setting under Word Options > Trust Center > Privacy Options > Remove personal information from file properties on save

Note that the "Remove personal information from file properties on save" is normally greyed out in Word. It gets selected, and activated, after you run the Document Inspector and choose to clear "Document Properties and Personal Information."
