MSW not saving all of my document!

My MSWord 11.6.6 is driving me crazy! I have constructed a rather large document full of text and photos. When I save it, it takes several minutes to do so. But then when I open it up, I find that the last half of the document is missing!

Also, whenever I open or save, I get a message saying that it is in the process of converting the document. Could that have anything to do with this problem? Thanks for your help.

Word 11.6.6 ? as in Word 2003 without the service packs? (Sorry, I should have noticed you were using Word 2004 for the Mac.)

That it says it is in the process of converting could have something to do with it.

Try opening your shortened document and copying everything except the last paragraph mark. Paste that into a new document.

Can you better edit that document?

I just did a copy and saved it to my computer. It works well now! Thanks.

One thing I noticed is that it saved it was originally saving it as a "docx" file. This is what it went through when it was converting. But when I copied and saved it as a new file, it simply saved it as "doc." What I'm thinking happened is that I originally began the document on another computer in docx format but then when I moved it to my current computer, it wants to save it in doc format, but can't so it has to convert it to docx. Does that make sense?

It is a theory. I haven't used Word on a Mac for many years. If you do not have a compatibility pack for your version (so it can read and write docx files) I would recommend getting it.

Thanks, Charles. I appreciate the help and advice. Anyway, I was able to print a copy of the document successfully, and printed it out. Project completed!
