Default Editing a mail merge label

In an earlier century (a couple back, at least), I created a mail merge program, using an Excel file source, which I have used over the years. The Word label uses IF statements in order to ignore printing certain blank fields.

When I created this label, I remember being able to strike a couple of keys (e.g., Control + something) in order to bring up the formatting on the screen for editing. Now that I am much older and wiser, I am unable to recall the combination of keys that brings up the formatting, or disables seeing the formatting, for that matter.

Thanks for any help.

Do you mean ALT+F9?

Sir Mayor --

Am I embarrassed. I did try Control + F9, but didn't even think to use the Alt key instead. Many thanks for your response!

P.S. I have not seen Ms. Barnes (Alabama) name of late. Has she retired from the field, do you know? She had assisted me with picture and frame formatting for a book I published about a decade ago.

We have all been there

I think you mean Suzanne Barnhill. She doesn't contribute to this form. You'll find her here - http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/o...um?tab=Threads

Sorry for the delayed response.

What exactly is the difference between the two forums? Are both Microsoft supported?

Neither is Microsoft supported though answers.microsoft.com is Microsoft hosted and employs some folks from the Indian sub-continent to pick up the slack. Both are user peer groups and while you may see the same regular contributors on both (and other) forums, they are not connected.

Again, my thanks for your time and effort.
