Default Help with forms (shifting focus)

I'm trying to create a table in word that is 3 columns across and 10 rows down. In each box, I have a fill-in form, but I'm having trouble shifting focus the way that I want. No matter whether you hit tab or the down arrow, it automatically shifts focus from upper-left to lower-right. I want to be able to start at the top of the left column and move down to the bottom before moving to the second column.

Any ideas?
