Default Spell Check

I use the word CNA on a regular basis. It is the name of an insurance company. Everytime I type CNA it changes to CAN. Normally I type CNA and when it changes to CAN I hit the undo arrow and it changes back to CNA. It works but it is a real pain in the B__T. If by chance the sentence ends with CNA and a period CNA. I can't undo it.

So far when spell check challanges CNA I have clicked on ADD to the dictionary. It didn't help. A long time ago I manually found the dictionary and manually edited the file and added CNA and also cna. Nothing helped. Anybody here have the info to solve.
Thanks,
John

Default Cna

I don't know Office 97, but this would work in 2003 and 2007, so it's worth a try:

Go to Tools/Autocorrect options, or the equivalent, assuming this feature was then a part of Word.

In the Autocorrect list, find "cna", or, if you don't see it, type it in the new item box. Word may immediately put "can" in the "Replace with" box, or you can enter it. Then press Delete to delete that correction from the list and return to your document, and test.

Does this resolve your problem?
