When I write a dialogue (Office 2003 and/or 2007) I want the reply to begin with two spaces (or blanks) and the a dash (long minus sign), following by the reply (or sentence).
The key I'm hitting is the minus sign (or hyphen), which Word in the middle of a line automatically transforms into a dash. But when I begin a new line with a minus sign (hyphen), Word autoformats the character into a dot, as if starting a bullet list. I can disable this auto correction, but when doing so, Word leaves the minus sign, and do not autocorrects it into a dash. So my question is, how do I make Word to 1) not make a bullet list out of my reply, but 2) transform the hyphen into a dash? Any help is greatly appreciated. |
