Default Need to change table to text so that both columns merge to form 1 line

I have Word 2007 and I was sent a document containing tables; I need to change the tables to text to bring the text into InDesign without the tables.

One column in the table is a list of packages. The next column is a list of prices for each of the packages.

I want to change it to text so that the text comes out so I have the package name, followed by a tab, which is followed by the corresponding price.

But when I convert to text, using a tab as the delimeter, all of the prices move (as a group) to the end of the list of packages.

I even tried merging the lines of text, but when I try to select the first line, I end up selecting the entire list of packages instead. It's as if the packages and prices are 2 different tables.

Is there a way to do this without copying and pasting each price separately?

I'll attach a document that contains a copy of the first table to show what I'm trying to describe.

You have a table with one row and two cells. When you convert it to text you get cell 1 followed by a tab followed by cell 2. Your table (with gridlines showing) is below.

You would want a separate table row for each logical row in your table.

Charles is right. The content in your document needs to occupy different rows in order for it to convert easily into the tabbed layout you were hoping for.

An easy way to do this is to copy the table and paste it into Excel. You can then copy this content back into Word and do a Paste Special > Text Only to get the right format for taking to Indesign

Default Thank you both

Guessed's answer seems like it would have been the quickest.
I ended up copying and pasting each line separately while waiting for a response. But at least now I know in case there is a next time.
