Odd 2013 Behavior
I've been using Office 2013 since it was made available the the military for the home use program and it has worked well. My other programs appear to be working well (Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Outlook). I'm running W7 Ultimate on an Alienware 18 w/32GB RAM.
What is happening is somewhat difficult to explain. I want to copy/paste a section of a word document, say 100 words. Highlighting is nearly impossible (sometimes it works). I highlight by clicking the left mouse button from beginning to end and as soon as I stop holding the mouse button in order to move the cursor to 'copy', everything becomes unselected. I've tried restarting and a full shutdown and sometimes I can select text and other times I can't. This is a new occurrence. In advance, I appreciate any help you can provide. Thank you, Nicholas. |

This may not apply, but this behavior would be seen if your document were read only, or locked, such as a form. You may check document properties for Read only. For locking, you need to display the Developer tab (see Word/Options/Customize ribbon), and open Restrict editing panel.

It you click somewhere and then hold down the shift key while pressing the arrow keys does content get selected? If that works then I would try a different mouse.
