Need help with existing Table of Contents
I have a family history book I started years ago in early Word version and am well over 100 pages now. When I started I knew nothing about styles and themes so now I can see I hurt the process. I started to build the TofC but now it only covers about half the book. I also have been religious about source references and the index does work OK.
I have it converted to W2010 now. I have spent several hours searching and playing with styles and themes, but now I am so confused. I need to have an accurate TofC with the links when finished, so what do I need to do to fix it? Thank You for any help. |

By default a Word TOC field generates a Table of Contents from paragraphs formatted in the Heading 1, Heading 2 & Heading 3 Styles. If whatever you want to list in your Table of Contents has any of those Styles applied (do be consistent about which ones you use for different things), simply clicking in the Table of Contents and pressing F9 should be sufficient to update it - as will doing a Print Preview.
