I've searched this forum; I have to believe this issue has come up, but I can't find an answer. I'm generating a table of contents in a document with 7 levels of headings. So some of the table of contents entries end up wrapping to a second line. I've put a hanging indent in each of the TOC styles. Most all of the entries align beautifully, including entries that wrap to the second line. However, on some of the entries, only the page number, or just a short word and the page number end up on the second line, and the page number does not right justify.
I've tried hard coding the right align tab into each of the TOC styles, but that doesn't seem to make a difference. If I add enough spaces to force another word of the first line onto the second line, that will generate the right alignment and the dot leader. But as I'm planning to publish this book to Kindle and epub, I'm reluctant to do something that would muck up in HTML. So I'm trying to address all issues in styles. Any ideas why this is happening or, more importantly, what I can do about it? Thanks! |

Thanks SO much Paul. That did it. My settings weren't too far off from yours, so I'm not completely sure what did the trick; I'm guessing setting the alignment at "justify" rather than "left." But that's only a guess.
I appreciate your help. |
