Have you tried updating the printer driver? Simply reinstalling it may also help.

Thanx,
The printer prints OK if I use the Printer Icon in Word. |
If you temporarily run Word in Safe mode (as a troubleshooting step), then can you print from File | Print?
To start in Safe mode: Exit Word if it is currently running. Hold the Windows logo key as you press R. In the Run dialog box, type winword /safe and press Enter. |
Thanx, tried it but no luck.
Also please note: 1. when I open word it tries to configure itself then says Error it is not functioning use Repair and I open it again & works OK except for the "File>Print issue mentioned above" 2. deleted two small utilities I recently installed. 3. recently installed my old Epson c48 & when it did not work I deleted it. EDIT just thought of trying to print out of Notepat & File>Print, he Print window opened with Preferences & Advanced & printed OK but will not do it in Word. ??? |
The error/configuration message is displayed every time you start Word, not only in conjunction with printing? That suggests that something is wrong, of course.
Have you tried troubleshooting for faulty add-ins? See the sections that refer to Startup and COM add-ins in the article at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/921541/en-us. |
Yes error shows every time I open word & pressing OK in it word opens & all work in it except the issue in file>print
