Default Buletts and Style

Word 2013.

I created a style using the format to go to numbering and then to bullet, and chose my bullet. OK, so far.

When I applied the style to my text, The text indents, the bullet shows up BUT it is in blue with a long blue dash to the text. The dash prints out as well. What am I doing wrong or not doing reight?
