Default office 2010 missing templates for headers, footers, bibliographies, ETC.

so i have office 2010 and i need to use specific header and footer templates and other word templates for a college course im taking online, and on my computer they will not appear in the upper toolbar. i dont understand why they are missing . any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!
