Default Spell checker problem!

Hi I`m a newbie on here and I would be really gratefull for any help anyone can give me. Over the last few days when I load a document into Word - even a new blank document, the `spell check is complete` dialogue comes on straight away and will not turn off when I press the OK button. Some times the spell/grammer checker comes on and will start to check the document but that will not turn off either. It locks the screen and and I have to press Ctrl/alt/del to get out of Word. I have done the following:-

a) Done a system restore to before the problem started.
b) Reinstalled the entire office Program

c) Contacted Norton in case of virus contamination

All three were negative. I bought the program (Office 2010) off a student/teacher forum so it did not come in a Microsoft box but it did with a key wich was accepted just now when I reloaded it. Any suggestions, please?
