Hello, I want to replace periods in between numbers with colons, in a MS Word document. i.e. 23.5; 14.16; 16.9 -- to -- 23:5; 14:16; 16:9.

In the FIND box I've put ([0-9]).([0-9]) and it finds the instances in the document where a period appears between numbers, but I haven't figured out what goes in the REPLACE box to get this done. Any ideas?

Try a wildcard Find/Replace, where:
Find = ([0-9]).([0-9])
Replace = \1:\2

I've tried using the \1:\2 formula but it does not work. It will swap the numbers around and put the colon behind them.

1.5-7 will end up 15:7

The swapping around suggests you have 'Track Changes' on - it has nothing to do with the Find/Replace expression as such, which works just fine.

Thank you very much! I did have my Tracking changes button ON. As soon as I turned it OFF I was able to make the changes with the provided formula.

I made over 1400 changes in the document.
