Macros and External Sources
Hi there,
My job requires me to write a lot of reports in word. A lot of the information used to write these reports (names, date of birth, etc) are held in an online data base. I was wondering if a macro(s) could be used to extract details from the database in to word or if there is a more appropriate tool in word to do this. Any ideas or tips would be much appreciated. What sort of 'on line database' and how many records are there to access? Word can get data from a variety of sources, but to know how to approach it, it helps to know what the starting point is.

You might want to look at Mail Merge which is Word's simplest tool for inserting data into a document.
