Default font for plain text documents
When I open a plain-text file (*.txt, pure ASCII) under Word 2007, it comes up in Courier New. I'd prefer Word to display plain-text files in Lucida Console, which I find much easier to read.
Of course, no font information is stored IN a plain-text file (it's not a Word .doc or .docx or .rtf file), so changing the font while editing isn't sticky -- next time I open it, it comes back in Courier New. How can I change the default font when looking at plain-text *.txt files, please? Thanks! Robert J. Sawyer in Toronto |

To do that, you would have to change the 'Plain Text' Style in Word's Normal template. See: http://shaunakelly.com/word/styles/modifyastyle.html
