Default Word 2013 Teaching Manuel

I went to Amazon to purchase a manual (book) on how best to use Word 2013. I have upgraded from 2002 so and it's a world of difference of course. There are so many book choices, that I can't easily decide.

I use Word to write books and to dictate medical reports, so formatting is where I need the most help.

Any best recommendations or even good web sites? I am already using the program and have figured out many obvious changes, but styles are confusing, which leads back to formatting (I guess).

There are multiple links to various instructions for MS Word. While you indicate the 2013 version and that formatting is a prime issue, http://guides.lib.umich.edu/word2010 may be of immediate help. I know the link indicates Word 2010 but, the site reflects 2013 as well. In any case, most of the formatting issues of past versions of Word apply to 2013.

Other links that may help:
http://shaunakelly.com/word and http://addbalance.com/word/. Of course, there are many more...

Hope this helps.

I like Microsoft Word 2010 Bible by Herb Tyson. Even though it is for Word 2010 I think it is better written and more authoritative than the 2013 version. The differences between Word 2010 and 2013 for the general writer are minimal.

Styles are a key to formatting using Word. Here are two online references:

A good starting place is Basic Concepts of Microsoft Word - from Shauna Kelly.

Also, there are good video tutorials available through Lynda.com.
