Default Menu Items Bold

I need to create a pull-down menu in either Microsoft Word 2007/2010 or Microsoft Excel 2007/2010 where certain items in the pull-down menu appear in bold. That is basically the requirement. Can this be done? If so, can you describe how?

Thank you,
sreyes27

As far as I know, you can't modify the formatting of text in menus.
