Line spacing changing ad hoc
I'm in the final stages of writing a PhD dissertation and the bibliography (works consulted) is single spacing. I've had an experience today when several lines at various places in the document decide to become what looks like 1.5 spacing. Nothing I do can get the single spacing again.
I have tried selecting the entire document and going to 1.5 and 2 spacing and then back to 1 spacing. Still no success. What is causing a document to change line spacing for 5 lines in an ad hoc fashion? It has done this in 3 places within the 50 pages. Changing the Show/hide icon hasn't helped. Do any of you have ideas about how to fix it? I'm using Word 2003 Oz |

Problem solved
Thank you for the link to https://www.msofficeforums.com/word/...e-spacing.html
This indicated that it might be related to the Styles feature. It was. I've cleared the styles and redone the font and all is fixed. Many thanks for your excellent recommendation to help me better understand MSWord, even though I've used it for yonks! Oz |
