Lightbulb Using autotext automatically

Hi forum

Is it possible to have a field in word, that you could fill in, and then have word automatically saving the entry as a an autotext entry with predefined attributes?

An example:

Generic Company A/S
GenericRoad 2
40402 Generic City

Att: Mr. Neutral

I want to save this entry, so that I can bring it up again fast, just by typing the beginning of "Generic company" and then hitting enter.
This can be done using autotext, but I think that the process of saving the entry is too long and complex. Any ideas? Can you make a formula field that could do this?

Thank you
The Dane

You can save something as an AutoText entry by selecting it and pressing Alt+F3. Do you really want to spend three days of your life figuring out a quicker way? That is what I expect it would take me, but I may be optimistic.

Thank you for your quick answer! I think I might stick to your solution with the shortcut key.
It would probably take me more to figure out how to do it faster!

For an approach that takes rather less than 3 days to figure out, see: https://www.msofficeforums.com/word-...own-lists.html

Paul, that would have taken me far more than three days! Thank you.

But now the hard graft has been done, you don't need to do all the learning. All you need do is adapt it to your situation.
