Can I undo a repaired document?
I've been working on a document all day, saving every paragraph to the hard drive (and also have autosave feature on - although backup was not) when Word hung and crashed about 4:20pm. On recovery, there were 3 autorecovery files (others that had not been named or saved) and one repaired document (the one I was working on.) The repaired document reverted to an earlier saved version of the document (2:47pm) and I cannot find any other versions with the work I saved up to 4:20. Can anyone offer any help in recovering this text? Thanks. |

There is no 'autosave' in Word. Only autosave recovery information and it seems that has worked. The backup function is virtually essential and will give you another layer of recovery. Only legitimate saves will be saved and the last saved version should be that with the original filename. Did you check out the 3 autorecovery files to establish what, if anything, they contained? Chances are that anything else useful will have been lost.
