![]() Hi there, I want to know if there is a solution for limiting format to only some parts of the document, meaning that for example no one can change and edit the tables, header, footer and only edit texts of other parts? Can master file help to solve this? |

Depending on what you're trying to achieve, you can use 'filling in forms' protection with either formfields or content controls, including the use of unprotected sections for free input/editing, or you can use 'No Changes (read-only)' restrictions with (or without) content controls. The former is more restrictive, but works with Word 2003 & earlier.

Is there any way to limit formatting of some sections without using fillable fields?
Or even if there is a way so we can lock the formatting for some sections such as header and footer and tables, it is good as well? |

Yes, you can use the 'No Changes (read-only)' restrictions, with or without content controls, and just mark the editable portions as exceptions.

Thanks Macprod, How can we add exceptions there?

Have you checked the option for the 'No Changes (read-only)' restrictions? When you do, it should become perfectly obvious.
