Opening word document problem

I am having a problem opening some word documents. When I try and open some document it opens the file conversion menu. No matter what I do the document will not open correctly.

Can any one help

Could you post one of these documents here so that we can test it? Because, until we do that, we aren't really going to have any information with which to go on!

HI, did you find a solution to your problem??
Im having the same problem. It seems to happen when office files are saved to an external device and opened on another computer. Initally I thought it was a USB key problem but I really think its a Microsoft Office problem. Its getting very fustrating because my sister has lost loads of her college work and ive spend hours trying to find a solution but nothing yet

No I havn't found a solution at the moment but that sounds like the same thing that happen to these documents.
