The remove white space command deals only with display not with what the document does. It hides the header and footer area.

Is this what you are talking about?

If you have a short document, it will not fill a page unless you increase font size or otherwise use up the space.

The idea is:

I have 1 page. But only 80% is populated with text. Would like to remove the unused white space below the text?
Why? I make a pdf out of it as my 1 page CV for bigger impact! I want the reader to have all info in one page without scrolling down.
Same when pdf is embedded in website. I believe the excess white-space is making the need to scroll down.
Removing the excess allows for bigger zoom without the need to scroll down.

Is it possible to remove the white-space?

You can't do that without changing the page size and, even if you do that, it won't reduce the amount of paper used when you print unless you change the paper size too.

For a PDF, this is all pretty pointless. If you want to fill the page, use a larger font as Charles suggested. Do be aware that those who have to evaluate such a CV are likely to be less than impressed.

changing the margin size by reducing the bottom works. I did not want to fill the page just remove the unused white space.

I now know how to do it so thanks!

About the CV being less than impressing; maybe you're right. But they say you should keep it short...
