I use documents with form fields that require editing. To use the form fields, the document must be locked, but to edit, the document must be unlocked. In earlier versions of word, this was easy, there was a button with a lock that you could click on and off while you are working on the document. I'm new to Word 2013, and I can't figure out an easy way to do this. Maybe I'm missing something. Anyone have any ideas ? Thanks!

You can add the Lock command to the Quick Access Toolbar (via File tab | Options | Quick Access Toolbar).

If you use content controls instead of formfields, their full functionality and the capacity to edit elsewhere can be had without the need to lock the document. DO note that you should not use formfields and content controls in the same document.
