![]() I need to know what version of word was used to create a document. I have checked in properties and it dosent tell me. is there a way of checking what specific version was used. |

There is no reliable way of doing this. However, if you open a Word 2010 document in Word 2013 and go to File|Options|Advanced>Layout Options, a Word 2010 document should show more options than you'll see with a Word 2013 document. That's because some options have been deprecated in Word 2013, but they're retained for Word 2010 documents. For example, Word 2010 documents allow you to choose 'WordPerfect 6' justification rules. Word 2013's improved justification engine obviates the need for this, so it's not available for Word 2013 documents.
