Date Picker work-around

I am working on a form with drop-down menus and boxes where one of the entries is date of birth. By using date picker, a user has to click a bazillion times to get back to, say, 1920.

I tried to break it apart with day then month then year. In entering the years into the list box, I got an error that stated that there was a limit as to how many could appear.

Is there a way to have them enter the year, then use that year to reset the date picker to the appropriate year?

thanks for any help.

I don't think so. You can change a few things with a Date Picker in Design mode by right clicking on Properties, but nothing that would ease navigation to dates years, or even months ago. You could set the default to, say, 1/1/1920, but I doubt that would solve anything.

Date Picker is cute and sort of handy picking dates within a few months of the default like if your default is the current date and you want to choose next Friday.

I like to add neat controls too, but sometimes they're not worth the effort. Even if you could quickly navigate to a given year, does the automation provide any user benefit? Your other go at it, entering day and month and year with list boxes, is creative but is not ergonomic. I know, I've gone down that or similar rabbit holes.

It's far easier to just type in the date though you obviously need to guard against entering a 21st century date when you want one from the 20th century.
