Word 2011 for Mac - problems with table of contents
Hi!
I have finished a paper for school, and the final thing left to do is the table of contents. The paper took me 1 hour - this has taken me 4 hours. I don't understand what's wrong!! I have used header 1 for everything I want in TOC, and one header 2, (and this is what everyone else in my class did as well, and they managed to get the TOC automatically), but it only gets the first page and one of the headers on that page (I have 4 pages and 7 headers that need to be in the TOC). What am I doing wrong? Is there bug in Word 2011 for Mac? I don't want to do the TOC manually (and I don't really know how), as part of the assignment was to learn how to do it this way. I tried rewriting the paper in a new document, but then it just told me that Word couldn't find any entries for my TOC. Can anyone help me find a solution to this problem? I have OS X 10.9.4 and Word 14.4.4. |

Have you tried updating the TOC? It will be required after adding more headings to the document. In Word for Windows, you can update by clicking in the TOC and pressing F9.
