If I write Word text in blue (colour control codes Red:0 Green:0 Blue:255) all texts appear in blue on screen but only some of the text prints in blue - some, seemingingly quite at random, prints in black. Thinking this was a printer issue I bought a new printer (Epson XP-312) but the problem persists. If however I control the colour such as Red:2 Green:2 Blue: 250 - then all text appears on screen in blue and prints in blue.
Other colours seem unaffected. Anyone any ideas ? Thanks, Wombat |

If this affects all documents, it could reflect a fault in your Office installation or the printer driver. If it affects only a few documents, it could be document corruption.
Have you tried repairing the Office installation (via Programs & Features > Microsoft Office > Change in the Windows Control Panel)? Corrupt documents can often be 'repaired' by inserting a new, empty, paragraph at the very end, copying everything except that new paragraph to a new document based on the same template (headers & footers may need to be copied separately), closing the old document and saving the new one over it.

Thanks Macropod,
It is definitely not document specific, problem also arises in any new Word document raised. Also doing the blank 'ghost' paragraph does not clear the issue. I have run the Office installaion 'change' programme, which plodded through re-Configuaration but after re-starting my computer the problem persists. Maybe I'm heading to remove and re-install Microsoft Office ? Only issue there is I don't have the disks but I guess I could get them. Thanks, Wombat |

Reinstalling Office rarely fixes anything a repair won't.
I have come across this problem before (see https://www.msofficeforums.com/word/...ent-print.html). On that occasion it was dues to corrupt documents - multiple documents were affected because the underlying content that had been copied into multiple documents was itself corrupt. If it affects even new documents, that could indicate a corrupt template.

Thanks, and it sure looks like the same problem.
If however I start a new document in Word the problem is still there. Is there maybe some way of re-starting Word? Wombat |

Rename the normal template If you have not changed the default location enter or copy
%appdata%\Microsoft\Templates to the address window of Windows Explorer and you will be taken to the folder that contains the default template - which for Word 2010 is normal.dotm. Note that this folder is normally hidden. Word will create a new one when next started.

Graham, Thanks.
I did as you suggested and was indeed taken to hidden files. I found one called Normal and when clicked it opened a new Word document as per norm. I got out, shut down and restarted. Opened a new Word document and entered text, saved and printed. Blue 0:0:255 printed as it should! Seems good to go. ![]() I will use only 'new' Word documents going forward but only time will tell if the problem is permanently fixed. Very much obliged. Will re-advise/confirm in due course. Again, very grateful for your assistance. Cheers, Wombat |
