Default tif will not place in word

Hello everyone !!!
I need help from all of you gurus out there ! I am working off of a mac osx system , I have saved a .tif and have sent it to a client. This is something we have always done for this client .... but all of a sudden , the client is telling me that when they try to place the .tif into word, it is asking to be converted. I have never had this problem before . They are using word 2000 on their pc.

I have saved it out as a .tiff, there is not much else I feel that I can do on my end but could settings be an issue on their end or possibly security issues

with the automatic updates be preventing this from going into word?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!!!!
Thank you in advance!!!!

Compressed tiff files can't be opened in Word on Windows. Do you have some options to turn off the compression when saving your tiff file? Or try other image formats such as JPG.

Hi, Thank you for your reply!

I have tried compressed and with no compression, the client is still having problems. I thought it may be that .tif was not supported in word 2000.
I do not work with word often and if I do , it is the 2008 , not 2000.

I have suggested that they try a different format, possibly .jpg but
I was curious as to why the problem was even there to begin with because
they are saying that this just started to be a problem. I am at a loss because
nothing has changed on my end as to how I save the .tif file.
