Word 2010: Comments still appear in saved doc
Hello, and Help!
I have a doc that was revised by several people using track changes and comments. Now that it's final, I have used Accept All Changes, Delete All Comments, turned off Track Changes, and changed it to Final. Saved the doc. When I re-open it, however, all the comment bubbles are still showing. I have tried everything: repeatedly have made the above adjustments, saving as a new document, etc. The comments will not die!! How do I get rid of them? I can't send out the document like this. Thanks, Cindi |

See if this works...Click on Track Changes / Change Tracking Options. Under Baloons near the bottom of the dialog box, select "Never" for Use Balloons.
Hope this helps... |

I'll try that. Will it remain for all documents I do in Word, or do I need to always make that change with a tracked changes doc?
A coworker recommended that I delete each comment individually and that worked too. That seems rather cumbersome; this doc had only a few but for a longer one it would take a long time to go through and do that. But for this instance it worked. I'll remember the "balloons--never" trick too. Thank you, JimP! |

Once you make the setting to "Never", that should work for all future documents as well.
